Briwax is an internationally known manufacturer of wood finishing products dating back to 1860. The companyÕs commitment to quality was acknowledged by the granting of a Royal Warrant from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
I worked with their New Zealand distributor to reorganize and simplify the presentation of product information, improve site navigation and consistently reinforce the Briwax brand.
The Briwax.co.nz website was built using open source PHP server side scripting language that enables dynamic page construction without relying on a user's web browser to perform these tasks. The site also uses centralized files to control the site look and feel and allows Briwax's non-technical staff to easily change site content.
The site also has an innovative "Where to Buy" feature that imports flat text files generated by Briwax's accounting software. This feature delivers the names and phone numbers of retail outlets that carry Briwax items based on a users geographic location.
All consultation and communication with Briwax was done via email, making this a challenging but rewarding project.
